Zhytomyr Polissya, late 19th – early 20th century).
Restored by authentic samples from museum collections. The outfit includes: a shirt, a skirt, a zapaska, a shawl and a belt.
The shirt is made of homespun bleached fabric. On the sleeves, each ustavka, cuffs, armhole and hem it is decorated with embroidery “zatyagannya”, with geometric ornaments.
The “andarak”, “litnyk” skirt is woven of woollen, multi-coloured checkered yarn.
The rug-like “zapaska” apron is decorated with geometric ornaments “in diamonds”, made by the technique of rug (‘zakladne’) weaving.
The “platok” shawl is made of home-woven linen cloth, decorated with woven stripes along the perimeter.
“Krayka” belt is woven in lengthwise stripes of multi-coloured wool.
