Women`s shirt

Rivne region, Kostopil district.

Reconstruction of an authentic sample of the early 20th century.

The original is kept in the museum’s collection.

Handmade.

The shirt is made by ‘ustavka’ cut (with inserts).

The fabric is home-woven, white.

The inserts (each ustavka), sleeves, cuffs and stand-up collar are decorated with embroidery.

The shirt combines the following embroidery techniques:

straight lichylna stitch (straight lyshtva), ‘shtapivka’ embroidery, horizontal saltire, vertical saltire, diagonal saltire.

Composition: fabric – 100% linen, embroidery – 100% cotton.
